Endesa Distribución Eléctrica has awarded the maintenance and execution of new Substation works to Omexom for a period of three years. The award involves three very important contracts, in the following areas: Catalonia East A (Barcelona and Hospitalet), over €19m, to be implemented by Omexom Barcelona, Catalonia East B (Girona, Manresa/Vallés-Maresme), almost €15m, commissioned from Omexom Girona and Baleares 2 (Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera), €860,000 to be implemented by Omexom Baleares. In addition, the Omexom Especialistas and Omexom Ingeniería business units will undertake significant works in all three areas. Axians will also provide support within its area of expertise.
Viesgo Distribución Eléctrica has awarded Omexom Cantabria Líneas the contract for the Double Circuit High Voltage overhead transmission line modification works known as LAT 55 kV DC Cacicedo-Corbán / Cacicedo Parque Tecnológico de Cantabria, between towers no. 3 and no. 7, which includes a 330 metre underground section. The works will cost €280,000 and take 3 months to implement, having commenced in November.
In addition, Viesgo wishes to install a renewable energy-based electricity generation systems in its substations. It has therefore awarded a pilot project to Omexom Cantabria Subestaciones, costing over €275,000 to be implemented over one and a half months at four of their electricity substations, to power auxiliary substation services with renewable energy from mini wind turbines and solar photovoltaic. The works consist of building 4 hybrid substations, with 1 to 2 wind turbines and between 25 and 60 solar panels each, as required, at the Parque Tecnológico de Cantabria, Mazuelas, Pico Gallo and Boimente substations. The works will start as soon as the municipal licences are granted.
